Up to 30 days off, or licence gone if 4+ in 12 months

After any crash with an injury or damage, you have to stop. If the other person is there, you have to show your chauffeur’s licence and your TLC licence, and give them your name, your licence numbers, your insurer and your policy number.

Falling short of that exchange is the violation. You do not have to have driven off.

There is a second charge underneath it. You also have to tell the vehicle’s owner about any crash right away. Not doing that is a $100 fine and 3 more points.

For fleet and base drivers these two get written together all the time. That is 6 points from one incident, which is the suspension threshold on its own.

Because appearance is required, this is the summons where having someone appear for you pays for itself. We go, you keep the shift.

General information, not legal advice. Eternally Ready Alliance is not a law firm and Luigi Rojas is not an attorney; we act as a TLC industry registered representative before the OATH Hearings Division. Penalty amounts come from 35 RCNY Chapter 80 and can change, and the rulebook controls, not this page.

A photo of the summons or your licence is enough to start.
